Snollygosters & Super Bowl Victuals Tuesday, Feb 3 2009

1 February 2009
In a wonderful happenstance of scheduling, the world – the U.S.A in specific – get a break from the snollygosters of Washington, D.C. and get to concentrate completely on the ancient, tribal ritual of trial by combat. The Superbowl ® is played on the first Sunday of February and in election years it’s a welcome respite.
This year, like most years, I don’t really care who wins or loses, but the ritual still calls and I watch the brightly-coloured warriors perform their intricate time-honoured dances.
At the same time that the warriors are entering combat, the spectators are devouring the spoils from recent hunt-and-kill sessions at the local grocery market. Here are the spoils of my most recent hunt.

Cheers.

Kelly Takes a Picture of Me Taking a Picture of Kelly Tuesday, Feb 3 2009

31 January 2009
As a last minute decision, we went to the Rahr Brewery today taking advantage of one of the last free weekends we will have until Summer starts. We’re on that downhill roll toward Scarborough Faire and between my work schedule, the new soccer season (which starts on the 2nd) and Marita Beth’s costume-creation commitments and, of course, Scarborough Faire, weekends will become a rare, precious commodity. So, with all that in mind, we went to the Rahr tagging Kelly, Bert, Joe, Starr, Troy & Alex to join us. What a great time…and that Iron Thistle is every bit as good as I had recalled – oh yes.

Wherein a Map Serves as a Hint Tuesday, Feb 3 2009

30 January 2009
When I went out to the mail today, I retrieved a small package along with the regular bills & junk.
Inside that package was a map. The map, photographed here, is a Beer Drinkers Guide to Colorado and came from a very dear friend of mine that lives in Colorado.
I think it’s a hint.
The Map
Here’s hoping I can put that map to use sometime this summer.
Thanks, David!

Cheers.

Wine Bottle Tuesday, Feb 3 2009

29 January 2009
As I was setting up to take the photo of this wine bottle for my records, I accidentally depressed the shutter button and got this:

I preferred it to any other shot I took. Accidents will happen.
Cheers.
