If she wasn't so cute, I'd take fewer pictures of her!

17 December 2008

I once had a dear reader of The Daily KRuMB tell me that I could post as many pictures of Artemis as I wished!  She claimed she’d never tire of seeing my pretty cat.  I hope she was serious!

I realise Artemis is an easy out, when it’s been a long day of busy-ness that didn’t include photography.  But, when she is this darned cute, really!  Even if I’d taken a pile of pictures of more interesting stuff, she’d still have likely made the cut!

Lunch today at Mi Tierra!  My chance to say goodbye to Lou as he leaves American Airlines, and Kyle and Terrill prepare to somehow pick up the slack.  I enjoyed my eggplant sandwich, but probably not as much as I enjoyed the potato balls we ordered as appetizers!  Other members of our luncheon party ordered Cubans and steaks and soups and ceviche . . . and everyone was pleased, as usual.  Yet another delicious meal from our friend Demaris.

If ever you’re inclined to want a great Latin Fusion meal, please give us a call!  We’ll happily take you to Mi Tierra!  We don’t seem to be able to get enough of it!

Countdown stands at seven days!  I officially started packing today! 🙂

Playmates Thursday, Dec 18 2008

15 December 2008

I know this is rather like a bad rerun of a very familiar TV sitcom.  But these two really are great playmates.  It doesn’t happen constantly, or even every day.  But, when it does happen, it’s always terribly amusing for the human voyeurs.

My attempt to control our house full of stuff continues.  The countdown to Scotland stands at nine days!

Playtime with Artemis

2 December 2008

Another amazingly adorable photo of my crazy cat.  I snapped a couple dozen photos of her tonight, and although quite a few of them came out well, this is the best one.

I spent today trying to reclaim our house from eight weeks of faire and neglect.  I put a dent in the job, but by no means finished.  In fact, that might take me most of next week.  But, now, for the next couple of days, I need to focus on Dickens on the Strand plans.  I have located a project I started many years ago and I just might decide to try to finish it this week!

Bedtime Cat

19 November 2008

Once again, I present for your viewing pleasure—my cat.

I worked all day on various projects, from calling the water department to see why our bill mysterioiusly doubled, to making breeches for Donny.  In the late afternoon, I changed clothes and made ready to go join Kyle for dinner and happy hour at Bronco’s.  The guys had decided it was time for “gathering” and that meant beer and political debate.  And, the girls were invited, too! <wink>  It was a good time, and much thought-provoking conversation took place.

When we got back home, I still had some work to finish so I kissed my man goodnight and went back to the workshop.  When I finally decided I was done, and came back into the house, I found the photogenic cat asleep on my chair.  She woke up at the whirring of the camera, and obliged me for a few shots.   Still trying to learn the camera, and desperately trying to remember how to do the exposure thing that Clay taught me on Sunday.  <sigh> Back to the manual . . .

“Do I *have* to put up with this Dog?” Tuesday, Nov 18 2008

"Do I have to put up with this Dog?"

17 November 2008

I swear I heard her say it.  She was sitting there, minding her own business, and this dog just kept sticking his nose in her business.  Rest assured, she swatted him more than once!

It’s actually quite the game they play, Artemis and Cormac.  ‘Tia plays too, but more independently—she does laps around the room with her Kong in her mouth.  She really doesn’t bother with Artemis until she leaves the room, then she gives chase.  But, it’s always Cormac who gets the kitty paw prints on his nose!

It was Monday.  Photos of my furry critter kids is all you get.

Wife, Cat, Computer, TV & a Sweater Tuesday, Nov 4 2008

30 October 2008
My wife, friends & colleagues threw me a birthday party this evening. We gathered at Rob’s Billiards to drink, socialise, play pool & eat. Food was provided by friends from work, beer was flowing freely (as was the bourbon later on) and the pool game steadily deteriorated as the evening wore on. 🙂
Through all of that, I neglected to take a photo. Even still, I managed a snapshot of "life at home" that I like.
Wife, Cat, Sweater, Laptop & TV
This is my wife sitting next to my wife’s cat who is laying on the sleeve of my earlier discarded sweater. My wife is pointing to our website on her laptop while watching something on the telly. Maybe not completely indicative of the day in general, but certainly a peek into "a day in the life of".
