Sunrise in Kansas

17 September 2009

This was the sunrise as I exited the highway near my brother’s house in Kansas City.
At this point, I was so weary I’m surprised I thought to take a photo. But, the red sky in the morning rhyme was running through my head, and it was pretty.

Bungee with Garbage Tuesday, Aug 28 2007

27 August 2007
Still working on the Texture assignment, sort of. So, that's what this photo is:
Bungee Cord with Garbage
This is a bungee cord attached to the side of a large trailer that was completely full of trash. Refuse. Garbage. Rubbish. It was an amazing, if disgusting, sight to see. I suppose I should just be glad that all that trash was constrained by this sequence of bungee cords and grates rather than scattered about the ground.
Cheers.

License Plate Sunday, Feb 25 2007

23 February, 2007
Telling License Plate
Sadly, the image didn’t come out as clear as I had hoped. I guess the synchopation between the two idling vehicles (mine and his) was off just enough.
I took the photo primarily because the license plate amused me. It reminds me of the sort of classified you might see in the backpages of the Dallas Observer or the Ft. Worth Weekly.
It might read as follows:
4 ORGY 2
NSBC seeks NSBC for ONS
NSB only.

But, then the frame around the plate made me laugh aloud as I pondered the ridiculous dichotomy of the (un)fortunate license plate in its framing.
Cheers

Abandoned Lorry Monday, Feb 19 2007

February 5
Abandoned Lorry
…slowly but surely, i’m catching up…
For years I’ve been seeing this abandoned lorry on the side of the road parked in a small copse. The trees have begun to grow through the vehicle now it’s been there for so long. This was the best I could do on a short-notice decision; I’ll stop again soon and get a better photo.
