One of the few things we bought at Grapefest this year – aside from the nearly required beer & wine – was a hat for Marita Beth. A completely unique one-of-a-kind hat constructed from honeycomb paper. Honeycomb paper is the paper out of which airplane wings are made. It’s extremely light and extremely durable for being a paper product. I don’t expect it would weather getting wet, but as long as we avoid that and keep it shaped with the pipe cleaner, the hat should last her a goodly number of years.

This is a photo of the hat taken from under the brim while on my head. You can just see the bright purple flower that has been affixed to the hat. It’s really quite charming.
