The nuptial day of our dear friends Chad & Laura – the reason for my trip to Springfield, MO. Chad & Laura are, in a word, unique. And to celebrate that uniqueness they threw the most incredible themed wedding I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending (barring mine, of course). The theme was Carnivale/Masquerade/Cirque all rolled into one giant party held in the magnificent Gillioz Theatre in Central Springfield. The attendees were encouraged to wear masks & dress for the event, while the attendants & party members were required to do so. The result was the most wonderous hodge-podge of historical and fantastical. A truly memorable and unique event.
Chris, Kelly, Marita Beth & I arrived a couple of hours early so that Chris could get his bits straight before presenting them – his rehearsal of sorts. Being the über-intelligent gent that he is, the rehearsal didn’t take long so we retired across the street to the newly-opened French Quarter Café for a bite to eat. Still struggling for that noir photo to meet my challenge, I took a series of staged & unstaged photos. This is far and away my favourite although I do quite like some of the others.
May I present to you: Christophe the Devil!
