Tool of the Trade Friday, May 9 2008

8 May 2008
My wife is a seamstress extraordinaire. I’m constantly amazed, then proud of the work she produces for her clients (and, when I’m lucky, me). My wife is also a collector. When you throw her profession into the same bowl and mix it about with her habit/passion of collecting, all sorts of weird/zany/wonderful stuff gets cooked up. This is a measuring tape that she no longer needed.
Tool of the Trade
So it decorates a wreath (along with discarded spools, thread, needles, pins & cushions) on the door to her workshop.
Cheers.

Sherry Glasses Friday, May 9 2008

7 May 2008
A long day at work saw me head directly home when it was said and done. That’s an unusual tactic for me as I generally prefer to stop and unwind with a pool game or two. But, this day, I just wanted to go home and vegetate. I didn’t get to do the latter part of that, as my wife, who had also had an extremely long day in a different manner, wanted to go see a movie. So, Iron Man it was. Good movie. Very enjoyable. But, all of the above forced me into a situation where, again, I didn’t take a photo during the day. So, instead, we have a photo of a collection of crystal stemware we have in the china cabinet.
Sherry Glasses
Lovely little sherry glasses aren’t they?
Cheers.

Hinderance

8 May 2008

I’m not sure if Artemis intentionally positions herself so I cannot work, or if she’s just seeking out the warmth of the light, but either way it’s really cute.  When I insisted she move, so I could use the machine, she did, and then shortly thereafter resumed a similar position on the industrial serger.

It’s going to be sunrise, soon.  I’m headed to bed.
