Frisbee. Ball-Toss. And garden hose games. These are the things that make life worth living if you’re a border collie at our house. I suppose if we owned sheep or chickens, it would be different. But, as it is, these things are big, big fun!
On my list of things to do before the weekend, was to hose down the rugs that both hide the old floor and decorate the booth at East Wind Games. Our final weekend of 2007 was a muddy mess, and the rugs were special. I laid them out, and let last week’s rain handle the worst of it, but they were still far from mud-free. So, today was the day. It soon became evident that there was no way I was going to be allowed to have all the fun for myself. Cormac and ‘Tia love to chase the water stream as it shoots from the garden hose—especially on the high pressure setting I was using. They were a wet, muddy mess themselves before long, and have since been hosed down, dried off and brushed. But, while the game lasted they were hysterically funny and I couldn’t resist the urge to run and grab my camera.
The framing isn’t too good, of course; it’s not easy to hold the hose nozzle in one hand and the camera in the other and actually watch what the viewfinder is seeing at the same time you’re trying desperately to keep the camera dry with two energetically bouncing dogs moving at the speed of light. Or was that the speed of water? ;-) There’s another fun shot that shows how viciously they attack the stream of water, and one of the two of them waiting patiently while I got my camera.
They were awfully happy with our game. Big fun. And now, they’re clean and resting and I’m glad once again that we have tile floors!
I’ve about spent all the time I can today on stuff (housework and East Wind Games) other than my sewing. It’s time to go make sleeves!

Those fur babies could not be more happy! What a great game for them.
