White Silk Poofs

20 March 2008

The twentieth:  Thursday.  Sleep is for the weak.  Wednesday never ended.  I worked on Tommy’s order, and on Bert’s order,  and finished  Shannon’s skirt, and Wednesday became Thursday with nothing resembling sleep except for a quick ten-minute power nap in the middle of Thursday afternoon, with my head on my sewing table.  This is Tommy’s doublet back, just before I did further assembly.  His fitting Thursday night went great, and I could therefore go ahead on the rest of the outfit.   I also had a visit from Novie, who wants some alterations done to his aging doublet I made for him in 2001.  With Kelly’s help (she was here working on her project for Larry), we made the plans about what to do for him; he went to the Leather Factory for the supplies, and I added that to my list of things to do.

After not sleeping on Wednesday night, and managing to get all the way though Thursday without keeling over, I was finally in bed Thursday night at eleven o’clock.  I was so full of adrenaline by that point, that my brain actually took a while to calm down and let me sleep.   But, sleep I did, for seven hours.  Then on Friday, it all started again.

Choosing Trims

19 March 2008

It’s my turn to do a little catch-up work on the KRuMB.

The nineteenth:  Wednesday.  All Nighter #1.  Yep.  I’m  delighted to report that my physical strenth and stamina might finally be returning to normal. I managed to stay up all night and keep going the next day.  In fact, there were actually two all-nighters in one week, and I’m living to tell the tale.  But, that’s the story for the next couple of posts.

Wednesday was the day I made the final trim decisions on the ensemble I’m making for Tommy.  Here’s a shot I took while in the process.
