Brown Brocade

7 March 2008

Well, it’s just after 1 a.m. and we’re done.  Kelly has worked so hard—-and with great results!  She and I both have new Victorian garments to wear to Melanie and David’s wedding tomorrow.  Kelly made for herself, a lovely little polonaise out of a yummy grey velvet, with a blue underskirt.  And for me, she made a charming little tailcoat bodice that I’ll be wearing with the brown silk underskirt I already had.  Hopefully, we’ll be a picturesque addition to the wedding memories.  I think Kyle is even going to go and sport his period duds.  It should be a fun afternoon.

Nothing much happened today besides sewing.  Stephen came by for a visit.  I made some further plans for next week.  And I finished the mock-ups I need to take to faire on Sunday.  My photo is a close-up of the lovely brown brocade from which I chose to have my new bodice made.  Hopefully, tomorrow’s pictures will include one of me wearing it!
