Well, it was pretty much a given, that with all the sickness around me the last few weeks, and my erratic sleep schedule . . . I was going to get sick. The sore throat has been getting worse all day. I’m congested and sniffly and sneezy. No heat rash, yet, so I’m hoping a fever won’t be a part of this particular bug. But, it’s enough even without that, for me to feel pretty zapped.
I was fully planning another late, late night, but I cannot. It’s two a.m. and I’m off to bed in mere moments. So, needless to say, the day’s sewing projects are not as far along as I had hoped they would be. On top of all the work to be done, I had to also fit into my day today, a trip to Scarborough faire site, to pick up some things from the booth—namely petticoats that might be needed for Dickens (and a few other things, too). That errand (and the post office) ate a chunk of my afternoon. Then, Stephen and I conferenced about the fabrics for Kyle’s new Dickens stuff—and ended up pretty much starting over on fabric selection. The new choices are fabulous, though, and with any luck, Kyle will get some of the bright colours and patterns he so covets.
It took much longer than I’d anticipated to perfect the pattern for my pellerine. But, the basic piece is visible in the photo today, and all that remains now, is to trim it, and trim it some more!
Hopefully, tomorrow will see that through to completion, and I can get on to the ball gown. <sigh> So much fabric, so little time!
