This is one of those photos that I’m rather ashamed of —but in the interest of keeping our promise of a daily capture—here it is. After a long day of working, stressing a bit about all that needs to be done between now and the end of the month, a customer appointment, and the long drive to and from a good productive dance class . . . this is the sight that I see as I exit the freeway—almost home. Midnight, and I was really tired. Of course, soon after actually getting home, I got my second wind and was up ’til nearly four!
I had two triumphant moments today related to my crazily crowded workshop and my hoarding tendencies: 1. My friend Stephen wanted to drive to Dallas for buttons. I offered to let him shop from my stash, and he said he needed 40 of the same button, and doubted I’d be able to help. I reached into my cabinet, and handed him a box of sixty absolutely perfect buttons! And then, gave him the perfect fabric for his new waistcoat—out of a scrap pile! And 2. I met with a young couple tonight, planning their wedding attire. The colour green they were seeking no longer exists much in our world of available fabrics, so I’d offered for them to choose from among things I’d been hoarding for years. They picked two fabulous fabrics that were exactly what they wanted, and I was able to recoup my cost on a total of eleven yards! So, twice in one day, MaritaBeth’s House of Fabrics successfully fulfilled dreams and made people happy! I love that!
