Day Thirty-two at Bristol
Happy Birthday, Maron!
Another average day at Bristol, except for one thing: Kyle is here!! Yay!
He had to entertain himself for most of the day, unfortunately. But, tomorrow is our anniversary, and I’m taking the day off! The anniversary doesn’t fall on a weekend day all that often, but when it does, he’s always been here with me, and I usually get to take most, if not all, of the day off. It’s a wonderful thing.
Tonight was the ninth annual Fire and Ice Cream Social at the Faire Maiden Glass booth. We had drawings for three different pieces (two goblets and a bowl, the latter made entirely by apprentice hands!) and an auction to benefit RESCU, where we sold a two-hour glassblowing class with Shannon and we apprentices! The event was a success, as usual, despite the almost constant rain. I didn’t have any ice cream, personally, but everybody seemed to enjoy that, too.
About halfway through the event, I noticed Kelly and Joseph collaborating on their new photo blog project. Kyle and I are so excited and proud and honoured that they have joined in the spirit of this daily journalling. This photo isn’t great, but it does show the two of them—Kelly looks as though she’s gesturing about what Joseph might be focused on—at Fire and Ice tonight. It was a fun event, and if I hadn’t been participating, I’d have taken a whole bunch of photos!
