More Medicine Thursday, Jul 5 2007

4 July 2007
A bit of a theme is creeping into the posts here, I’m afraid.
More Medicine
Yep, more medicine. This bunch of vitamin goodness is that glorious get-well wonderdrug, Vitamin C. As sick as I’ve been for the past 6 weeks, I’ve tried most everything, prescription & non, herbal and man-made. This stuff is the best and I’m doing my best to continue to take it, even as I heal myself and get better.

I went to see Transformers today. Transformers is a very typical Michael Bay movie and a very typical summer blockbuster flick. If you want to see some absolutely blow-you-away special effects or some frenetic, high-octane chases, then this movie is for you. If you want anything remotely approaching cerebral or containing a storyline that is actually a plot rather than just a vehicle for spectacular explosions, then choose another movie.

Cheers.

Yet More Rain Thursday, Jul 5 2007

3 July 2007
Yet More Rain
Yet More Rain
This is, although not the hardest, certainly the most violent storm burst through which I have ever driven. I took this photo while driving through the bottoms. I had struggled to get the camera out moments before I took this photo, but was unable to secure it in time (it was, after all, raining very hard and there was no where to pull over). In the space of a minute (approximately) just a few minutes before this photo was taken, there were four lightning strikes within 100 (or so) feet of where I was driving. The sort of strike where you feel the electricity in the air at the same time that you both hear the boom and see the flash and the air goes a static green colour. Four of them in the space of 60 seconds. Thank goodness I was rubber-side down safe in my car safer in my car which is considerably safer than being outside in that storm (thanks Klobe for the clarification and link!).
Cheers
