Kyle Descending

15/11/06

With only about 24-hour’s notice, Kyle and I found ourselves at a Dallas Stars game tonight!  Some wonderful friends who own season tickets, won lower level seats for tonight’s game, leaving their regular seats empty and wanting for occupants.  We graciously accepted the post!

Unfortunately, the Stars got their happy little butts handed to them by the  New York Islanders, 0-3  . . . okay, so I’m grinning a little on the inside; after all, you can take the girl out of New York, but . . .

While at the game, I got my camera out and played around a little bit. I took a couple of fun shots of scoreboards, and Zambonis, and then, this.  The camera wasn’t even on when Kyle got up to go down to the restroom and the ale stand.  I turned it on and decided to snap his photo as he was leaving, as a total after-thought.  The result is really pretty cool.  An accident for sure.  Serendipity.  I call it an “art shot;” which justifies just about anything, I guess.  Kyle was surprised I liked it, or even took it, ’cause as he says, “you don’t like that sort of photo in National Geographic.”  And, usually, he’s right—-I don’t.  But, then, NG hasn’t ever had Kyle as their subject matter, or me as their photographer!   Too bad I probably couldn’t do it again, if I tried!
